History
Glen Coe is a dramatic Highland valley carved by glaciers out of the remains of an ancient supervolcano. Its peaks, including the Three Sisters and Buachaille Etive Mòr, draw climbers and walkers all year.
In 1692, 38 members of the MacDonald clan were killed here by government soldiers they had given shelter to, in the Massacre of Glencoe. Much of the glen is cared for by the National Trust for Scotland.
