History
Salmon fishermen first strung a rope bridge to the tiny island of Carrick-a-Rede more than 250 years ago, to reach their fishing nets. The bridge hangs about 30 metres above the sea.
Today's bridge is a modern, safe version, and crossing it is one of the most popular things to do on the Causeway Coast. It is cared for by the National Trust.
