History
Newgrange is a great passage tomb built around 3200 BC, making it older than Stonehenge and the Great Pyramids of Giza. It is surrounded by kerbstones carved with spirals and other patterns.
At dawn around the winter solstice, sunlight enters a roof-box above the entrance and lights up the inner chamber. It is part of the Brú na Bóinne World Heritage Site.
