History
Inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Blackpool Tower opened in 1894 and quickly became the symbol of Britain's favourite seaside resort. It stands 158 metres tall on the promenade.
At its base is the Tower Ballroom, famous for its sprung dance floor and Wurlitzer organ, and the Tower Circus, which has run since the tower opened. The Blackpool Tower Eye viewing platform has a glass SkyWalk floor.
